Description:
For sale is a rare Caterham C400 race car originally built in 2001 for the Eurocup Championship. This car is in excellent condition for a race car with minimal dents and dings and low hours on the major components.
The car did 1 season of racing in 2001 before being retired until 2004. It later took part in 4 BARC events and in March 2006 was converted to a C400 with new engine, full nut and bolt rebuild and fresh paint. The LSD and gearbox were rebuilt at the same time by Road & Race Transmissions. Despite all the hard work the car only raced twice in the Superlight Challenge and was then retired until 2008 and has only done tracks days since.
The full specification is:
- 1998cc Cosworth Duratec engine developing 220bhp
- 6 speed manual gearbox
- LSD
- Lowered drivers floor
- Big brakes (4 pot calipers/vented discs)
- Momo quick release steering wheel
- Fully operational Stack dash
- Wide track wishbones
- Race Bilstein dampers
- AP brake bias valve
- Fire extinguisher
- Bag tank
- Nearly new Avon CR500 tyres
Since being owned by the track day enthusiast the car has been maintained by Virtual 7 and The 7 Workshop. Post track day checks have been carried out as have fluid changes. The last owner reported a 100% reliability rate.
This is a very low hours car and would be perfect for Class D of the Magnificent 7's Championship (limit is 220bhp).
