One of the last race cars to leave the factory, this TVR Tuscan Challenge car is a well known and hugely successful historic race car. This is a very quick and well proven car, having gained much success in hillclimb with Dave Jones and in circuit racing nationally in the Dunlop sponsored TVR European Challenge with historic TVR racing driver Martin Crass. The car still holds the Donington Park GP fastest lap record for its class, which is unlikely to ever be beaten since the race series no longer uses the full GP track. The race car was completely and fully overhauled in 2013 by a TVR specialist. These works included the total rebuilding of the AJP V8 engine including a new billet steel crank assembly. The Elite 6 Speed sequential gearbox was strip checked and refurbished by Elite in 2014 (only 4 races since then) and the bespoke built Ohlins suspension was completely serviced by Aurok UK (Ohlins UK Specialists) only 8 races ago. Other overhaul and FIA/MSA compliance works included fuel system works, complete new fire system, new harnesses. The car was stripped and repainted in its original and well known livery. The car is currently undergoing hub crack testing and wheel bearing replacement in readiness for the new season. The car is a super-light (well under 900kg), late and original example of the marque. Only the gearbox is non standard as it was upgraded to sequential some years ago. It can be very easily converted back to its original 5-speed T5 box and the Elite sequential be sold on for a cash return in the region of £3,500. The car comes complete with 1 set of (5) original Dymag 5 spoke super-light wheels and a set of Dunlop wets on (5) TSW wheels. A spare, newly rebuilt (zero miles) original AJP V8 race engine is available for those interested, although this would be by separate negotiation. This is one of the finest late examples of the race car you will find. It has been meticulously restored and upgraded very recently and is ready to race. It needs for nothing and has been sympathetically raced on only 8 occasions since its extensive overhaul. It has been a front running car and boasts many wins, podiums and lap records.
