BMW 2002 Group 5 – Original Deutsche Rennsport-Meisterschaft vehicle

This racing car is the former race car of Willi Hatje, Quickborn.

Willi Hatje was a popular private driver in the Deutschen Rennsport-Meisterschaft for several years. He initially used this vehicle in Group 2 configuration and later converted it to Group 5.

The current owner purchased the vehicle many years ago in a condition requiring restoration and had it completely rebuilt. He demonstrated great attention to detail in the process. A 2.0-liter four-valve naturally aspirated engine was installed. The vehicle has not yet been used since its restoration.

An HTP (Historic Technical Passport) was issued by the FIA and is valid until December 31, 2029. In addition to the passport, the vehicle file contains confirmations from Willi Hatje and his former chief mechanic that this is his “old” racing 02.
