1998 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V RS.

Genuine RS model (one of 633 produced). Japanese import with Japanese service history. Low mileage at 59,000 km (approx. 42,000 miles).

Purchased in September 2024 as a long-term project with the intention of proper recommissioning and track use. I have been a mechanic for 20 years, specialising largely in JDM cars, and all work has been carried out by myself.

The car now runs and drives exactly as it should. It has completed two track days, a tour of Wales, and a Nürburgring trip this year. It has been driven to Europe and back without issue and is fully usable and reliable.

Former rally car in Japan. I carried out a thorough inspection prior to purchase. The car has never been undersealed. The underside shows surface corrosion only, with no holes. I have access to a ramp and am happy to show the underside to serious buyers.

The car was largely stock on purchase and retains correct RS-specific features including non-airbag steering wheel, RS braking setup, and RS drivetrain components. Compression is even at 120 psi across all four cylinders.

Timing belt kit, water pump, and auxiliary belt have been replaced.

Key modifications include a 6-point bolt-in roll cage, BC coilovers, front limited slip differential (believed Cusco), lightweight flywheel, Exedy twin-plate clutch, polyurethane engine and gearbox mounts, Blitz air filter, HKS intercooler pipework, Evo 8 Brembo brakes with new discs and PBS pads, Prosport gauges, fire extinguisher, and a 3-inch stainless exhaust with custom decat silencer. The car is sub-90 dB and suitable for all UK track days.

Wheels are Enkei 17x9 ET15 with new 235/40/17 Nankang NS-2R tyres.

Recent maintenance includes new battery, starter motor, alternator, auxiliary tensioner and belt, updated water pump pulley, fuel pump, fuel filter, iridium spark plugs, full fluid changes (engine, gearbox, diffs, brake fluid Motul RBF660, PAS, coolant), steering arms, drop links, ARB bushes, clutch slave cylinder, and professional wheel alignment by IA Motorsport.

Air conditioning is fully functional. MOT valid until January 2026.

Reason for sale is lack of use and considering a change for 2026. Not a forced sale.
