This car is based on the original Ralliart bodyshell no. 1572 and was used in 1996 as an official Ralliart Recce Car, serving as a working vehicle for stage reconnaissance during World Championship rallies. These cars were essential tools for the team, used directly by factory drivers to prepare pace notes and support car setup.

Documented usage includes:

• 1996 Rally RAC, Great Britain, Ralliart Recce Car driven by Richard Burns

• Rally Monte Carlo, Ralliart Recce Car driven by Tommi Mäkinen and Richard Burns

• 1996 Rally Catalunya, Ralliart Recce Car driven by Tommi Mäkinen

Recce cars were not simple support vehicles. They were prepared to a very high technical standard, close to full Group A specification, and played a key role in the competitive success of the team.
