Description from Burton Power when originally purchased: The legendary Ford OHV Kent block has been remanufactured by Fords using an all new grey iron casting that is stronger than the original. This particular block has been machined to suit the Lotus Twin Cam and 1500 pre-crossflow engines.

Specifications include:

• Standard 7.800” deck height with extra material allowing decking if required
• Cylinder bores semi-finished to 3.228” to allow the engine to be built to desired clearances
• Tappet bore diameter .565”
• Block cast from 40,000 PSI grey iron
• Lower bell housing bolt bosses reinforced
• Selected areas around main bearing webs strengthened
• Centre main is machined to accept upper and lower crankshaft thrust washers (SOHC Pinto type)
• Includes cam/jackshaft bearings

* Note: suits later type push-in oil pick-up pipe fitted from September 1966. Earlier screw-in pipe will not fit
