BMW E36 M3 race MOT - SOLD

This is now SOLD. Search for similar items.

Description:

BMW E36 M3 racing car. WITH MOT. 18 months left as ready to race.

Fully serviced trailer available by separate negotiation. £1200

I have race suit and boots, HANS device and helmet all available by separate negotiation.

Originally a 328i; shell with no sunroof.

Engine and running gear.
3.0L M3 engine and running gear professionally installed. S50B30 engine (better than the later S50B32 due to fewer VANOS maintenance issues) with a five speed gearbox (better due to being more reliable) than the later six speed. The differential from an M3 was fitted at the same time.

The gearbox has an AC Schnitzer short shift kit fitted.

Induction kit fitted (see photograph of engine bay)

Re-map and chip of engine to deliver more power lower down the rev range. It's noticeable if you've ever driven an E36 M3 before. No Dyno print out, though.

Exhaust
Entire stainless Milltek system. Sounds gorgeous, but HAS and CAN pass sound limits on tracks. (See photo of pass).

Chassis.
Eibach coilovers and anti-roll bars
Fully polybushed

Brakes.
Front are six pot APs (alone cost £2300)
Rear are M3 calipers and grooved discs
Both front and rear are almost new pads. Discs have lots of life left.

Wheels
8" x 17" Speedline compomotive 5 spoke alloys with 225/45/17 tyres fitted for purposes of MOT. Toto 888 tyres included, as are a set of (used but with life in them) slicks.

Spare set of M3 sunflower alloys.

Exterior
Recent paint job to all areas that needed it.
Polycarbonate bonnet and boot lids (originals also available).
GT rear wing
AC Schnitzer wing mirrors
It has one (passenger) aluminium door (from M3 GT); much lighter and worth £500 on its own.

Interior
Mono corse steering wheel
Sparco seat
Harness
Fire extinguisher system
Fuel and battery cut-outs
Full cage
Spare seat if wanted (not in date)

The whole car is RACE ready, not just track ready. It has another 18 months in date! It has a current MOT.

It is being sold due to me being a serving soldier and just never having the time to use it. I spent a small fortune on it in 2015/2016and raced once, at Croft, the nearest circuit to Catterick Garrison. It's been serviced and then stored since, in my garage, until my wife has pointed out that I will not get the chance to use it for another two years, when the harnesses/seat/kit will all need replacing.

Totals that I have spent are:
Purchase in 2008: £7500. A few track days etc.
(Then, in 2011, I moved to Germany and Cyprus, then got divorced and it sat in a garage in Birmingham until 2015)

Recommissioned in 2015 at a cost of £5500and brought to a race-ready specification. The work was done by JC Racing in Thirsk.

Recommissioned in 2019 at a cost of £1500

I acknowledge that I will not get back what its cost me, but I wanted the prospective purchaser to know that it has been well looked after.

Eligible for NSSCC; Kumho etc
