Caterham 270R No92 Championship winning car for sale after a fantastic season running at the front in the Alaco Caterham 270R British Championship.

5 Wins 4 Poles and only off the podium three times in the season, the title was won with one race to spare proves what a well prepared and maintained race car this is.

Car was on Pole by over a second in Zandvoort and Thruxton and nearly half a second at Castle Combe. All power circuits proving the capability and strength of the engine.

Car is in excellent condition for a race car and has wanted for nothing over the entire season with regular wear and tear checks conducted after every race weekend and test.

Originally the car was bought and converted from Academy spec after its first race season in 2016. I purchased the car from Caterham South and upgraded to 270R spec testing at a few track days in 2017 and with a view to campaigning the car for a title attempt in 2018. As a result compared to other 270’s on the grid the car had less mileage as it missed out a full season at Roadsport level and this would still be the case if it was upgraded to 310R spec having done one less season than most other cars.

The original gearbox was replaced at Knockhill this year after a clunky change was noted (not rare for the mazda parts in the box) and since has run perfectly.

Due to the usual dents that come as part of racing the rear metal skin of the car was replaced and re-wrapped to give a perfect finish for resale. 

Professionally maintained and run every race weekend by a front running team. Invoices for all work and maintenance carried out throughout the season can be produced upon request for all serious potential buyers. Car has been very well looked after and any potential buyer will testify to this upon inspection.

Car comes with one set of spare rims with tyres (used and marked from wheel to wheel contact but we use as wet tyre rims) aswell as current black rim set fitted to the car in excellent condition.

Also comes with fitted avon race set of tyres and Yokohama graduate regs tyres that have done one test day (A lot of tyres thrown in)

Only selling due to a step up to the Caterham 420R class next year which unfortunately means a completely new car rather than just an upgrade.

I’ll be gutted to see the car go, lots of great memories, hopefully she can continue her winning ways with a new pilot!
