The 1992 Spa 24 Hours winning M Team Bigazzi BMW M3 Evo

Offered for sale privately by the current owner of over 25 years, the ex-works BMW M Team Bigazzi DTM car driven to victory at Spa by Steve Soper, Christian Danner and Jean-Michel Martin, recently recommissioned and restored to its original livery.

Chassis M3 120807 (BMW Motorsport kit number 208) was supplied new to M Team Bigazzi in 1991 for their DTM campaign that year, when their drivers were Steve Soper and Armin Hahne. In 1992, Bigazzi converted the car to endurance specification for Spa where it claimed a famous victory in the hands of Steve Soper during the final stint, when Soper's legendary skills behind the wheel of a touring car secured victory over the similar Schnitzer car of Eric van de Poele by just 0.48 seconds.

The car retains many original features from Spa and has recently been recommissioned very sympathetically by the UK's leading specialists in E30 M3 race cars. With its correct Fina Bastos livery restored after a number of years on static display in the Far East, the car was again driven by Steve Soper at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed where it attracted a huge amount of interest as an icon of arguably the greatest era of touring car racing. The car has also featured in various publications recently recanting the story of Soper's famous victory.

The car can be viewed in the UK, close to Silverstone.

Seriously interested parties should make contact for further information, more photographs and a copy of Steve Soper's personal authentication of the car.
