Description:
Car is now sold subject to cleared funds
in a number of Targa NZ events up to 2006. It was then campaigned by Rex Betham on circuit until 2013/14. Rex then moved across to race his XK150 & MKii 3.8 Jaguars and I bought the 'B' which has undergone recomissioning through PF Automotive of Tauranga, a really good competition shop with lots of old and interesting ex Uk tarmac & rally cars to service and prepare. They are also NZMSA Technical people and officials too, so that helped a lot to know the car was in good hands
The specification includes:
Excellent rust free shell, painted in Connaught green
A Lynn Rogers '1950' competition engine built into the best block with ported Big valve head, 300 degree cam,roller rockers and a Single Dellorto 45. (copy of detailed spec on request). Plus Deep, baffeled sump
A top -end refresh was completed 100 road miles ago and new ARP bolts fitted
New free-flow large bore exhaust system, Large core alloy rad and electric fan. Electronic ignition.
Cross-drilled/grooved discs with race pads. Uprated and lowered front and rear springs and dampers, plus uprated front ARB.
(certified) gearbox is a 1970 5 speed Toyota celica with pretty close ratios new X member fabricated and certified for latest LVV certification
Rear CWP is 4.1:1 and Fitted with a Quaife LSD. The Banjo axle is further located by a new Panhard rod assembly
2 x sets of 6J alloy Minilite style rims , mounted with 195 x 60 x 14 Dunlop 03 treaded race tyres, plus 2x new spare 03's and 4 x Treaded wets (unmounted).
Battery and Fuel pump etc mounted within the boot.
Fuses are all mounted in the glove box and the Terra Trip is positioned below along side rally map light
Raectech Seats, and new 3'' Harnesses, plus Q/D (original ) Momo steering wheel. Full welded-in (certified) multi-point cage and 2 x fire extinguishers..
All road registered competition cars in NZ are required by law to undergo LVV Testing and certification of all mods, prior to any WOF (MOT) being issued, plus you can't drive a car on the road with a rollcage in NZ , unless you have a current MSANZ race licence and compete in at least 3 events each year !!
This car is registered for the road complete with its original Targa registration of ZPI062 having now passed the stringent certification tests required and is ready to run in : Hillclimbs. Sprints, Targa NZ and Circuit races..
