We are pleased to offer for sale this stunning 1964 Porsche 904/6 Carerra GTS recreation with chassis number 904/201. This is no ordinary recreation as evidenced by it being the first such car to receive current FIA HTP papers !

The fastidious owner, himself a skilled Porsche enthusiast and historic racer, went to incredible lengths to ensure the build was as true and accurate to the original 904/6 as possible. Completed over the course of 3 years from 2009 to 2012, this left-hand drive 904/6 GTS was a collaboration between the vendor and Duel Motorsport of The Netherlands, one of the country's leading historic Porsche experts. Duel set out to reproduce not only the aesthetics of this wonderful car but also the performance and feel by painstakingly using the correct Porsche components throughout.

 Since its completion in 2012, the car has received current, 2012 FIA HTP papers and has been a very welcome and competitive entry in several historic races such as Spa Six Hours, Masters Gentlemen Drivers, FHR Langstreckencup, NK HTGT championship and – last but not least – the Zandvoort Historic Grand Prix. 

The bodywork is original specification glass fibre with moulds having been taken from an original 904, the chassis is an accurate copy of the original box section pressed steel perimeter chassis. The dry sump engine is a 2.0 litre Carrera 6 spec twin plug engine, based on a 1965 901/20 period casing with Weber 46IDA carburettors and magnesium centre lube chain housings producing an impressive 240 hp @ 8000 rpm.  It has a lightened flywheel and alloy clutch pressure plate. In addition the gearbox is a new 904 le Mans type casing with 904 input shaft (changeable 2nd gear), ZF limited slip differential and Porsche motorsport driveshafts. The engine and gearbox have 25 hours of running.

 Also the suspension is state-of-the-art with wishbones as original made from CrMo, new uprights casting as original, old style look adjustable shock absorbers and a steering rack made from an original casting. This is then all finished off by an interior with FIA rollcage and correct switchgear/instrument layout (with Stack in-period RPM Gauge) and Sparco Quick release suede steering wheel. Wheels are 15” steel 6” fronts and 7” rears fitted with Dunlop M racing tyres.

Total weight comes to 710 kilograms.   

In addition to its current FIA HTP, the car comes with the following spares : a set of wheels front and rear mounted with new Dunlop L series tyres, 1 set of HELLA driving lamps for evening/night races.
