Porsche 914/6 GT 2.0 litre race engine (Type 911/03) SN 6110043.

Built to FIA historic Group 4 spec. 80 Bore x 66 Stroke. Twin plug heads and ignition. Webers

This engine was built by well established air-cooled Porsche specialists, Greatworth Classics for a Porsche 914/6 GT race car project that was sold part-completed before the engine was fitted or run.  It has since had an initial  commissioning/setup session on renowned Porsche race engine builders  BS Motorsport’s  dyno. It was run up to 90% throttle/rpm and went very well and does not leak.

The engine is based on an excellent 1971 911T crankcase which has been brought up to S specification including:

 

·         Shuffle pins fitted

·         Line honed

·         S Piston squirters fitted

·         Barrel decks machined

·         Oil bypass mod

·         Gas flowed crankcase

·         S oil under piston oil squirters fitted

·         Time-sert head studs & inter-shaft stud

·         Canyon HD head studs

·         Vapour blasted & chromated

·         New FIA spec. 66mm steel crank & LW conrods (as used in multiple 2.0 cup cars)

·         Helix LW clutch & LW flywheel assy balanced

·         New 3.2 oil pump and racing inlet oil filter

·         BS motorsport hi compression 80mm pistons

·         Mahle 2.0S barrels

·         Twin plug heads, ported, 45mm Inlet x 39mm exhaust. Shrick valve springs & retainers

·         Race cams & BS motorsport rocker shaft seal kit, all new rockers, race tensioners

·         930 lower valve covers clearanced for 914 engine bay

·         New Weber 46 IDA carburetors, port matched manifolds, new linkages, K&N filters

·         New Mittlemotor 12 plug distributor and plug leads

·         Refurbished Bosch CDI boxes and CDI coils

·         Restored fan, new alternator, German made honey coloured “tinware”.

·         Kroon engine wiring loom

·         Mittlemotor race headers and back box for 914/6 GT installation.

 

The engine is  a straight fit into a 914/6 engine bay. With a change of tinware it will fit a 904, 906 or other mid-engine configurations. 911 headers & back box also available.  Build photos available.

The engine is situated at Greatworth, Nr. Banbury. At extra cost Greatworth Classics will be happy to fit the engine to your car and set it up for race, rally or road applications. Ongoing technical & trackside support is also available from them.
