Description:

Background

Team Obermoser Jorg produced TOJ racing sports cars and formula cars of their own design and engineering from 1974 to 1981.  The final improvement evolution of the TOJ sports car chassis was designed in 1977 as the SC206 for the 1978 racing season and won the 1978 championship. It is the most successful of the TOJ sports cars. The initial group of perhaps five SC206 chassis were built 1977 to 1979. The first SC206 racing appearance was at Nurburgring on 2 April 1978.  Following a change of business ownership in 1979, the last two SC206 chassis, SM01 and SM02, were built utilizing the 1977 drawings. The car presented here is SM02 which is reported to have received some suspension component updates.  The first known race appearance of SM02 was for an Interserie event at Zolder on 11 October 1981.
