This car has continous race history from 1970 onwards via Group 2 and Group 5 IMSA. It hase been meticulously restored to its Group 2 specification but comes with the Group 5 BMW bodywork as well in a flight case as it ran in IMSA

Chassis 2210270 is presented as an authentic period competition CSL with documented historic provenancein its group 2 livery and 12 valve specification and significant period race pedigree. Built during the golden era of European Touring Car competition, the car represents the lightweight, fuel-injected evolution of BMW’s legendary “Batmobile” platform that dominated international touring car racing throughout the early 1970s.

The 3.0 CSL combined lightweight aluminium construction, aerodynamic development and the famed BMW straight-six engine to create one of the most successful touring cars ever produced.
