1981 FORD CAPRI 3.0 S GROUP 1
Description:
Race ready, having just had a Goodwood test day shakedown, this Group 1 3.0S Capri has had £141,000 no-expense-spared build by U.K.-based historic racing experts Jordan Racing Team (JRT).
The car was specifically prepared for the 2024 Goodwood Member’s Meeting by Jordan Racing Team and has had only three races since completion including The Goodwood Members Meeting.
Eligible for many historic racing events including Goodwood Member’s Meeting, HRDC Gerry Marshall Trophy, CTRC, Equipe and Motor Racing Legends Historic Touring Car Challenge
A homage to the dominant FIA Group 1 Ford Capris of the late 1970s Chassis No. WF0CXXGAECGT38648 has undergone a transformation into a full Group 1 specification Capri by U.K.-based historic racing experts Jordan Racing Team (JRT), who have won the BTCC and have been building racecars for historic motorsport events such as Goodwood Members Meeting and HSR Daytona for over a decade.
JRT prepared this example with no expense spared in early 2024 to compete in the Gordon Spice Trophy (previously the Gerry Marshall Trophy) — the fan-favorite British touring car event in the prestigious Goodwood Members’ Meeting so-named for the 27-time winner in the British Touring Car Championship.
The Capri was fully stripped to its bare shell and fabricated to Group 1 spec with a custom built roll cage which was then sent to motorsport paint experts Normandale to be finished in Stratos Silver. Neil Brown Engineering engine fitted and JRT rebuilt and comprehensively refreshed the rest of the Capri’s mechanicals, and tested the born-again Capri at Turweston Aerodrome.
Now up to Group 1 specification, this Capri raced at the 2024 Goodwood Members’ Meeting in both the Gordon Spice Sprint and Trophy, where it was piloted in part by 2013 British Touring Car Champion Andrew Jordan.
This meticulously-prepared Ford Capri has only competed in three races since completion and is now offered with invoices from Jordan Racing Team totaling over £141,000 — encompassing its thorough race preparation, set up sheets, and most recent service in July 2025.
The car also comes with a set of spare of wheels and a valid FIA HTP until 31/12/2036
It is further supplied with engine capacity certificates from both Masters Historic Racing and Motor Racing Legends issued in 2023. Expertly rebuilt and already campaigned in multiple distinguished racing events, it continues to be eligible for the Goodwood Members’ Meeting as well as other prestigious motorsport celebrations such as the Motor Racing Legends Historic Touring Car Challenge.
