Outstanding Ford Escort RS2000, built to full competition specification using premium components from I.K. Engineering and Burton Power. Lightweight, powerful, and meticulously engineered.

Engine & Drivetrain

The engine is a Pinto-based unit built by I.K. Engineering in the UK. Bore and stroke measure 95 mm x 88 mm, utilising lightweight forged slipper pistons running on H-beam connecting rods and a steel crankshaft, delivering a robust, high-revving and highly durable competition specification engine.

The engine features a Burton Power aluminium cylinder block (SC1211BT) paired with an aluminium cylinder head, a Smith & Jones dry sump lubrication system, and a Simpson exhaust manifold. An I.K. Engineering flywheel with AP Racing clutch is fitted, along with a Cometic head gasket and Aeroquip breather and oil lines throughout.

Power is transmitted through a Quaife Type 9 all aluminium casing 5 speed dog engagement gearbox, driving an English axle diff with aluminium pigshead and LS diff (two ratios available).

Dyno proven at 190 HP at the wheels with 290 Nm of torque, the engine delivers strong mid-range response, excellent throttle control, and proven reliability under sustained competition use.

Suspension, Steering & Brakes

The chassis is equipped with a GRP4 World Cup specification crossmember and engine mounts, providing improved rigidity, corrected suspension geometry, and accurate drivetrain location under load. Suspension is handled by a fully adjustable gas coilover system, allowing precise control over ride height, damping, and corner weighting to suit varying competition conditions.

Braking performance is provided by Wilwood calipers front and rear, delivering strong, consistent stopping power with excellent pedal feel during sustained hard use. Front suspension geometry is further enhanced by a compression strut kit combined with adjustable TCA’s and an anti-roll bar system, enabling fine-tuning of caster, camber, and roll control.

Steering is via a Quaife quick rack with power assistance, offering sharp response and reduced steering input while maintaining feedback. An adjustable bias pedal box allows precise front-to-rear brake balance adjustment from the cockpit.

Body & Interior

The body is extensively lightened using fibreglass doors, bonnet, boot lid, mudguards, and rear spats, significantly reducing overall weight while maintaining period-correct GRP4 appearance. A six-point roll cage is fitted to provide structural rigidity and driver protection in line with competition requirements.

The cockpit is configured for motorsport use, featuring an OMP racing seat and steering wheel, along with Stack instrumentation for accurate real-time monitoring of engine vitals. The car runs on 13-inch genuine Ford RS Ronal Interceptor four-spoke wheels, widened and fitted with 10-inch Avon slicks, with two complete sets of wheels supplied. An 8 x 10 valance completes the exterior, accommodating the wide-track competition setup.
