Description:
1969 TECNO Historic F3 “Screamer”
A front running car in immaculate condition, having benefitted from a comprehensive restoration by Corinium Motorsport in late 23 / early 24.
The chassis was taken back to bare metal, carefully checked, measured and some minor repairs caried out before powder coating in period grey.
Every element of the car has been inspected, serviced and/or replaced with the correct parts. It is genuinely in perfect order and just requires fuel to go racing. VIF is up to date.
The car was run for the first time since the restoration at Cadwell Park in May earlier this year. It proved to be reliable and fast, with 4th in race 2 and the 3rd fastest lap of all finishers in that race. Back in 2013 it won the Historic F3 Championship in the hands of Dean Forward.
Engine & Gearbox
The correct spec’ MAE motor is only 1 race old following a full winter rebuild by Corinium. A full set up was completed on the rolling road at InterPro in Bristol and dyno data is available. Max power is 115 bhp at 10,400 rpm and torque is flat and strong, with a peak of 62.5 lb ft at 8,400 rpm. See short video below.
The rebuild included a full balance and many new parts including A6 cam, followers, pushrods, valves, springs, titanium retainers, collets, piston rings, distributor, coil, rocker shaft, rocker posts and shells throughout. In addition, the following engine parts are just 5 races from new; Arrow Crank, Arrow con-rods, JE Pistons, Richardson flywheel, Richardson alloy sump, fuel pump and remote oil filter and head.
The gearbox was rebuilt 5 races ago by Mark Bailey
Other Parts
The shocks are the correct steel bodied 8211 Koni’s and are just 5 races old. They were also serviced by IG Racing prior to Cadwell, as part of winter maintenance. Battery is new, belts and extinguisher are all in date and it runs a new Peter Denty 4-inch repackable silencer. There are 8 near perfect revolution wheels with a very good set of wets and good used Avon drys. New water radiator fitted over the winter.
