A rare car fitted with the 2L Duratec rather than 1.8 Zetec fitted to the non R variants.
Road legal track or race car
200bhp motor on throttlebodies motor is built with Omega race pistons, Arrow rods, Mahle big end bearings and Ginetta Power Upgrade cams.
The motor as built is under-stressed at this power output and could be tuned further.
The front brakes have been uprated with 4 pot AP racing calipers and larger disks and rears with 4 pot Hi Spec calipers,
driver adjustable brake bias is fitted.
Pads Mintex F4r's only one trackday, tyres Nankang AR1 only one trackday. Diff (LSD) ratio has been lowered to 4.5:1 which gives the car a real world 130mph top speed and excellent acceleration.
Uprated Quantum coilovers to latest G40 race spec. Spring rates altered to give an excellent balance.
Full fire extinguisher system fitted, race seats and harnesses, along with standard 3 point road belts, bag tank.
Car is used for about six track days and a couple of hill climbs a year, as such it is looked after, it gets anything it needs and is ready to be used now.
I have had the car for 7 years now and have kept it because its so good and for the money I'm not sure how you would go faster. Its probably just time for a change .
The car weighs 795kg so its not heavy on consumables, tyres, brakes, suspension etc.
The car is fast and sounds like the devil.
Its fully road legal MOT till April 24.
