This Lotus 11 still carries its origional chassis number and chassis plate with continuous known history from new.

Original Factory records show that this Lotus 11 , chassis number 287, was supplied by Lotus Engineering as a Rare Sport Model, on the 22nd may 1957.

Its first owner was a Mr Roy Walker who, in later years supplied the historic Lotus register with copies of the original sales documents and pictures of the finished car with its original Registration number 2068 WB.

The car was supplied with a chassis number and corresponding chassis plate which are also verified By Vic Thomas at the register, and still fitted to the chassis.

Mr Walker, along with his brother raced the little Lotus at club events up and down the country with good success. There are verified entries and accompanying pictures to back this up.

The car was sold to David Buxton of Team Elite fame in 1958 or 1959.

After that the car has a completely documented history of owners and sellers, both in the UK and in the U.S.A. But at all times it has remained known to the HLR.

The car was restored by renowned Lotus Guru Mike Brotherwood and HTP Papers were issued, The Car is still shown on his website.

In 2002 it raced at Le Mans Classic with Mark Griffiths and the Legend that was Simon Diffey. The car finished 2nd in plateau.

The car has been with its current owner since September of 2020.

Since 2020 the car has been exclusively prepared , developed and supported by Redesignsport ltd, before being extensively raced by Mark Cole (Porsche Carrera Cup Gb Champion) and Dafyd Richards, in both the U.K and Europe and has Given much bigger cars stiff competition at all of the events it has been entered into.

The car is fitted with a 1460cc Coventry climax engine, currently on Weber Dcoe, Correct BMC Smooth case gearbox and de-dion rear axle.

More importantly it has achieved some mighty lap times. Circuits, including Silverstone GP, Spa, Brands GP, and Oulton Park.

This is probably one of the most sorted and now successful Lotus 11 currently being raced, it is eligible for many events including MRL, Le Mans classic, Monaco Historic, Peter Auto , Equipe, Hscc and many more.

Significantly in its most recent racing history it has achieved significant success and has overall race wins and Podiums in the MRL Stirling Moss Trophy Equipe Classic racing series and Hscc.

Also regarded to be the fastest Lotus 11 in Europe.

The car has fresh HTP papers until 2033 and is ready to go to the track, or continued race support can be discussed
