This Patrick Head-designed Delta T81 FF2000 is fresh from a no-expense-spared, chassis-up rebuild.  The work has been fastidiously completed by the owner/driver, but with specialist/expert support as required from Tom Smith Historic Motorsport Engineering and from Iain Rowley at Delta Motorsport.  I’m only selling as I’ve concluded I’m more interested in the car-building and restoration than the racing!

Formula Ford 2000 is currently one of the best historic championships, with grids routinely having over 20 cars.  These cars are great fun to drive, cost-effective to race and very quick for their power.

Virtually everything is new on the car, for example all-new bodywork, custom-made rear wing, wiring loom, Stack instruments, brake callipers, clutch and brake master cylinders, complete ignition system, carburettor, complete cooling system, fuel pump and Momo steering wheel! 

The engine is very healthy, built by Anthony Denham from CK Motor Engineers with around 2 hours running in total.  The gearbox was recently rebuilt by JP Race Shop at Silverstone.

It comes with three sets of wheels, useful as Delta wheels are hard to source. I believe two of the sets are mag wheels with the third set being a Compomotive-type alloy deisgn.  All three sets of wheels have been recently refurbished - the mags sets have both had complete new rims made by M-B Racing Wheels/G-CAT Racing.  The alloy set has been freshly re-powdercoated.

The period Koni adjustable dampers have been rebuilt and refurbished by Sean Pickering.  The exhaust is beautifully custom-made by REEF at Bicester Heritage.

The mounted Avon slicks have around 20 minutes of running and the Avon wets are brand new.

The car has an interesting history, having been a hillcllimb car in period and more recently ex-Pat Blakeney and Steve/Tom Mills.
