The Original Goodwood Racer!!

A unique opportunity to purchase what is considered to be one of the few surviving genuine period saloon racers from the golden age of racing with period Goodwood history and the lap record for upto 1000cc at Brands Hatch, Mallory and Lydden race circuits.

This is the actual car which entered the last members meeting at Goodwood before the BARC moved to Thruxton in 1966.

Built in 1965 by Touring Car preparation expert George Bevan for his Son (Peter Bevan) to go racing, and restored by Jonathan Bevan over the last 4 years to the highest possible detail (Taking into consideration current historic racing regulations):

• Full restoration of the "original shell" including Chassis & Body tag and V5 with the number plate 4901N. Shell fully re-painted to show standards.
• New Custom Cage Historic weld in roll cage to current FIA safety standards.
• Fully Re-built Original A series formula Junior engine with steel crank and Rods. Period HOWE Exhaust manifold and FJ Inlet and weber 45 carb.
• Bespoke new 2" full exhaust system and optional 2" side pipe system.
• Re-built new straight cut 4 speed Original Gearbox with new prop shaft.
• Rebuilt rear axle with new LSD differential and bespoke A frame.
• Fully upgraded suspension with single leaf rear springs and period adjustable competition lever arms. 600Ib front springs with adjustable camber plates, uprated lever arms and bespoke anti roll bar.
• Girling front callipers and Disk brakes with AP Racing Master cylinders and braded hoses throughout.
• Bespoke aluminium foam filed fuel tank.
• New Corbeau FIA race seat and harness with the original re-located to the passenger side.

The restoration of the car is fully detailed with photographic evidence available for all stages of the work undertaken including: Period hand written lap time sheets, Race Programs & original adverts for the vehicle sale in 1967.

Modern improvements include lightweight alternator and starter motor, Momo removable steering wheel, new wiring loom Guages, heated screeen and full plastic4performance window set.
