Description:
Caterham 7 300hp Sadev Sequential Paddleshift
Originally built for European hill climb championships by DTA owner Allan Warburton
Converted for circuit racing by Danny Winstanley and run with great success in NSSCC before he moved to historic racing / team ownership
Outright race winner, class winner and regular front runner in the hands of a novice driver in 2022. Car is 100% ready to race and win this year in class H of the mag sevens. I don’t think you will find a more competitive car for the money. It’s not an oil painting, but it’s in great shape mechanically.
Ultra reliable, I had two non finishes this year which were wholly down to me. One for a lost alternator belt at snetterton (over tensioned by me) and a snapped throttle cable at Combe while running second.
Remapped at NMS with a conservative rev limit giving 296bhp and strong torque.
Clutchless up/down shifting controlled by the DTA S80pro ecu recalibrated by NMS
Penske 3 way dampers
Engine was rebuilt at Paul Gardner racing engines prior to my ownership, has done 5 mag sevens events with me and some Trackdays with the previous owner.
Specification:
296Hp 2.5L Duratec Engine with Steel Crankshaft
Raceline dry sump system and water rail
Edwards Motorsport stainless exhaust
Sadev 6 Speed sequential gearbox with pneumatic paddle shift
Chassis was new in 2015 and was built with extra diff bracing from the factory
Penske 3 way adjustable dampers
Titan Limited Slip Diff
Full traction and launch control
DTA SX colour dash
Professional wiring loom
Lowered drivers floor and relocated harness attachment point for correct HANS compatibility
Currently fitted with a foam seat (to accommodate a tall driver), but Caterham Tillet seat is included in the sale
The car has had the following, mainly elective, improvements in my ownership (in addition to fluids and service parts)
New 7.25” helix clutch 2023
New ultralight flywheel 2023
New wheel bearings rear 2022 front 2023

Two sets of wheels included in the sale. One set of rims with Toyo R888 and another with Avon ZZS wets
Can be sold in full race ready spec with hard wired transponder, in date fire extinguisher and Video Vbox with OLed display (logging 4 CAN channels from the ecu) for £34k
Available without the race specific kit (transponder, logger and fire system) for trackday use for £33k
2 year old lightly used PRG Minisporter (in excellent condition) available by separate negotiation.
Genuine reason for unexpectedly putting this up for sale.
The car is registered for the 2023 Mag Sevens Series and is already entered for two events at Snetterton (CSCC test day on 14/3 and CSCC Mag Sevens race on 25/3 if you want to see the car in action).
