LOTUS OUTLAWS BROADSPEED ANGLIA RACE CAR

Hi, here I have for sale this Lotus Outlaws Ford Anglia Broadspeed race car. This car was built in the late 70s/ early 80s and campaigned well in the special saloon series class. Built in Broadspeed colours, the car is built that well I originally thought it was an original Broadspeed car, but on further investigation it is not.

The car seemed to disappear for a good 30 years until I acquired it approx 3 years ago. The body is very straight with no rust or rot anywhere, it has fibreglass boot, bonnet and doors, perspex windows, period Ali tank in boot with new petrol pump. Engine is a brand new all steel 1700 pre-cross flow built by Jon Toovey Race Engines. 711M block bore 83.5, steel crank, 25 mains, 25 big ends, dry sumped, Mhale main bearings, billet steel H-section conrods, ACC pistons, modified precrossflow big valve cylinder head, steel post rocker shaft, double valve springs, billet steel valve ring retainers, pipercams cam shaft, steel fly wheel, vernier chain pulley, twin 45 webbers 36mm chokes, h/h distributor, Ashley exhaust. Engine pulls hard up to approx 8500 revs, dyno's at 170 bhp and weighing in at just over 700 kg, this car goes off like a scolded cat. Straight cut gear box, Ali bell housing, brand new 4:4 LSD in Ali casing. All aeroquip hoses and connections have been used. Sits nice on minilite wheels with brand new ZZR race tyres which are literally street legal slicks. Suspension is coil overs on the front, adjustable TCA's, double anti roll bar, front Ali hubs, Alcon callipers. Rear suspension, brand new Avo shockers, axle is period 3 linked with panard rod, big 9 inch drums on the rear. Interior has new period bucket seats, original old period alibars roll cage, Ali door panels. All in all a monster of a little period anglia race car which has all been set up and corner weighted. Handles and goes very very well. Would not take much to be able to use this as a serious period race car, with the update of seats and harnesses, and the old roll cage replacing.

This car has been built with no expense spared but kept to look period with the odd battle scar. very period pro built. Very special engine which today would cost approx 10k to build. More photos and videos available. Can be delivered at extra cost.
