Lola T492 for sale - iconic early Sports 2000 eligible for a number of championships.

The car is chassis number 21 with a large history file to prove history. Initially from the USA (as one of the first Lola's to be imported by Carl Haas) it returned to the UK in 2012. Since this point it was raced once by the previous owner following which it had a big professional rebuild, with new bodywork, wishbones at the rear, trailing arms, rebuild engine and gearbox, new dampers etc.

Since buying the car I have had significant work carried out including replacing all the brakes (discs, master cylinders & calipers), front wishbones, re powder coated the front uprights and replaced most of the suspension nuts & bolts for higher quality components as well as a new ignition system so it has new leads, coil etc. We also installed brake ducts to help with cooling and put in new seatbelts & fire extinguisher and did all the usual regular maintenance including new filters, plugs etc.

Spares package includes another set of wheels (with wets), some ratios, various wishbones & bodywork, springs, carburettor and spare ignition components.

I have raced the car at the Silverstone Classic, Spa 6 Hours meeting and one Brands Sports 2000 races, with 2 overall Sports 2000 wins and 2 seconds.

Looking to sell the car as I just don’t have the time to regularly drive it – it has sat there unused since October 2019.

Eligible for multiple championships in the UK including Sports 2000 (which is having standalone Pinto races in 2022 at a number of events), HSCC Thundersports and HSCC Classic Clubmans. Also eligible for a number of championships in Europe.
