Description:
The BMW “Neue Klasse” 2002 tii (Touring International Injection) was introduced in 1971 as a replacement for the Carburettor fed 2002 ti.
Standard power was 130 Bhp and “Road and Track” labeled it as the best and most versatile car available. The car was so fast and reliable that the German “Baader Meinhof Group” of terrorists used them for their exploits until the German Police would stop and inspect every BMW “Neue Klasse” car.
This particular car was built on 10-1-1974, delivered to US importer Max Hoffman and spent most of it’s life in a dry western state. In 2008 the previous Dutch owner imported the completely rust-free car back into Europe and commissioned a complete nut and bold restauration including rebuilding and tuning of the engine including the installation of a ZF dog-leg gearbox.
Over Euro 37K was spent in the restoration alone, all invoices are present.
Since then the car has only been used in a few Benelux Rallies and is completely ready for many more events.
