1969 BOSS 302 complete running engine for sale (UK).

A rare opportunity in the UK to acquire a genuine BOSS 302 of the correct vintage with 300+ bhp and all the correct parts for more potential.  This is a good clean engine that has benefitted from frequent oil changes - not the usual rusty old unit from a ‘barn find’.

Built in the USA by Tony Carey at ‘Ford High Performance Exchange’ (see FB page), and since then the engine has had an easy life in an ERA Cobra recreation and has covered less than 9000 ‘summer only’ road miles

On a recent rolling road power run, power was still climbing and hadn’t peaked when the rev limiter clipped around 6400rpm and 305bhp was recorded.  (Copy available)

 1969 model block cast in ‘68 (C8FE-6015B) with 4 bolt mains and screw-in freeze plugs

1970 spec service heads (D1ZE6090AA) with 2.19” inlet valves

1969 forged, cross-drilled crank

TRW original style forged pistons

Crane solid lifter Boss profile cam, Crane lifter, Crane pushrods, and Crane ‘gold’ aluminium 1.73:1 roller rockers

Canton 15-630 road-race baffled ‘front’ 8” sump/oil pan (discount if not required)

Boss windage tray and oil pump

Boss flywheel and clutch

Boss crank damper and water pump

Boss high-rise inlet with spelling mistake of ‘Fireing order’ text

Holley 80783-1 650cfm carburettor

MSD 8582 distributor, with MSD 8mm plug leads

Polished cast alloy Boss rocker covers with CJ ‘Cobra Le Mans’ emblems

The engine is currently still in the car for viewing and road test.  

Reason for sale:- The Cobra is a 289 FiA, so I want to fit the correct quad Webered Windsor unit.
