Ford Cortina Lotus 1600 Twin-cam.

New FIA Passport, Period F 1962 – 1965 FIA, Class CT8..Appendix K

This car has been built very well and has only been tested since the build, performs extremely well and is sure to be a class winner..very fast car!

The shell is in very good shape and has never been rolled, hasn’t had much welding or repairs from what I can see either.

When building the car one of the main factors apart from performance was weight saving, dry weight is around 800kg. Doors, bonnet and boot are aluminium, If it is to be used for track use then more weight could be cut.

Engine at the moment is producing around 160Hp/175Nm, power could be easily increased with a different exhaust and camshafts.

It also has a European registration title, 1964 2D Consul 114E Cortina /2480-64.

 

Original Mk1 Lotus Cylinder head, never welded and in very good condition.

Homologated Big vales.

4-2-1 Exhaust system.

Real Lotus twin 40 Webers.

Catcams Camshafts.

Custom made JE pistons, 82.55mm.

Steel ball Conrods.

Steel crankshaft main-bearing cap.

Compression ratio about 11.5

Engine is completely balanced within 1mm precision.

Original 120E block, cylinders haven’t been lined.

New Oil cooler.

New Sach Clutch.

Lightened Steel flywheel, 3.82kg.

Original Lotus Gearbox, 1st gear 2.98.

New propshaft.

Axle 4.7 ratio with steel Lsd.

Original Front and rear Lotus brakes.

Rear adjustable Spax dampers.

Front Bilstein suspension.

New Distributor.

Reconditioned Radiator.

Uprated Starter motor.

Aluminium doors, bonnet and boot.

5mm Plexiglass.

Sparco Fire extinguisher system.

New electrics.

Very good roll cage.

Jaz safety Fuel cell.
