Description:

Chevron B16

The chassis number of this car is CH-DBE-43 and was completed in September 2006 and delivered to the car's first owner, Roberto Farneti in Italy. The car was inspected and granted FIA HTP in February 2007. Mr. Farneti raced the car 4-6 times per year continually from 2007-2012 at tracks including Oulton Park, Spa, Nurburgring, Brands Hatch, Donnington, Magione, Barcellona and Imola. Extensive track testing was performed to optimize the shock valving and spring rates resulting in a car that is truly very easy to drive and quick at the same time. Driven very successfully by Mr. Farneti, it finished 1st in class in half of the events it entered and on the podium is almost every other event. An engine failure at the end of the 2012 season sidelined the car for the rest of the season. At that time the engine was sent out to Europe's legendary BMW engine expert Lester Owen for rebuild. A full refresh was completed January 2013 including dyno testing resulting in 227hp. The car was reassembled and by then Mr. Farneti's racing plans had changed so the car was offered for sale. We bought the car and imported it from Italy in 2015 to the USA. New seat belts, a little paint touch-up and new race numbers were all that was needed. It has been raced here in the US 7 race weekends with the approximate engine hours now at 11-12hrs. since the last freshening. The compression and leak down numbers are still perfect and the car runs great. The car is in truly race ready condition, the last event completed was at Portland, Oregon Sept 2016. Professionally maintained by Racecraft in Woodinville, WA.

Spares included with the car:

- 3 sets of 3 piece wheels, one set of cast Chevron wheels, Set of Avon slicks with one 15 minute session of use. Two sets of rain tires, one set of used Avon slicks.

- Original sale paperwork from Chevron, FIA HTP documents, factory set-up suspension sheets and set-up sheets after testing including shock settings, gear ratio sheets for various tracks in Europe and western US tracks.

- Stainless steel straight pipe exhaust system and another system that has a stainless steel muffler set-up and mount

- Chevron European logbook, US logbook

- Spare ignition parts, brake pads, rod ends, spherical bearings, axle bearings

- Koni shock mounts, shorter spec version to allow using Dunlop treaded tires which are taller

- approximately 6 spare good used FT gear sets, a few good used dogrings and 2 new dogrings

- Small box of other items related to the car.

The car has been a real blast to drive but plans have changed and it's time to let it go to make room for other stuff. A very cost effective car to maintain with the drop dead reliable BMW M10 engine.

Here is a video explaining the car in depth, showing many more photos and some on track footage.  (It's in Italian, but this is the actual car listed for auction here so worth a look) https://youtu.be/mW4plrxXKZo

**If there happens to be a buyer that is interested, I will sell the car without the BMW engine at a reduced price. I will take care of removing it and deliver the car as a roller.
