Description:

It is with great regret that i'm putting my DC2 Race car up for sale, due to work/family commitments, and not having the time to make use of it. It really pains me to do this, as I have put so much into this car over the past few years. 

I first took ownership in 2011, the car had only 57000miles, was a fresh import year 2000 Type RX in immaculate condition, with absolutely no rust. 

I built this car over a period of 12-18months from mid 2013 to early 2015, at a cost of almost £30k and over 1000hours of labour. Built to MSA blue book standard. Sponsored/supported by: Hel Performance, Forge Motorsport, Spoon Sports Europe, Dixel and TDI North.  

The car was stripped to a bare shell, which included removing engine, suspension components/arms, all wiring looms,  windows etc. Then mounted on a spit, all seam sealer removed (20-25kg!)
All seams were stitch welded, with particular focus on reinforcing struts, chassis legs, etc).
Spare wheel well was removed, and replaced with a flat boot floor, saving a further 12kg in weight. OEM fuel tank removed and relocated in custom containment inside the car, and exhaust tunnel fabricated to allow routing of straight through centre exit exhaust. 

Other tasks included, welding in reinforcement plates for the roll cage, welding in sill tubes to enable the car to be jacked up on sill stands for ease of maintenance, welding in seat rails, welding/fabricating custom framework for the pedal box assembly, extending the steering column (which enabled  the drivers seating position to be moved back by around 250mm for improved weight distribution), welding on lifeline snap off steering wheel boss, welding/reinforcing engine mounting points and sub frame, welding threaded bosses in various locations, for mounting of the billet shifter, race battery, extinguisher etc. 

For the weight saving purposes, doors extensively lightened  (-30kg). The wiring loom was stripped of any unwanted cabling, and a custom loom was made up for the switch panel (- 10kg). The dash lightened, and the heater/blower was discarded and replaced with an ultra lightweight race heater. (-10kg).

This car really is something special and is so exhilarating to drive on track, since completing the build the car has had around 6-8 hours of use on track. This time was used to shakedown the car, and set it up to suit my driving style. The plan was then to enter Time Attack, and eventually Honda VTEC Challenge, but unfortunately due to my personal circumstances I no longer have the time to be able to do this.

I have no doubt in my mind that in the right hands this will be a super competitive car. I have put a lot of thought into every single aspect of this car, it hasn’t been thrown together, but carefully and methodically thought out

Since building the car has only been run for approximately 6-8hours  total over four test days.
