FORD ESCORT MK1 RS2000 WITH V5 (with original chassis plate)

I believe the car has been reshelled at some time as the shell does not appear to be an original RS2000.

There is a significant history file with the car with many receipts for components and work carried out. The car could be used for rallying (with some modifications) and a broad variety of race series.

2.0 Litre Pinto engine with a Kent fast road/race cam. Cylinder head is a Sierra injection with angled ports. It has been heavily worked on porting on the inlet & exhaust ports to match the inlet & exhaust manifold. It has a custom one off designed for head exhaust manifold which has been matched on porting size. Luminition ignition with micro dynamics rev limiter distributor has been rebuilt and set up by H & H Distributors for racing. The inlet & exhaust ports have been seriously enlarged and a one off inlet manifold has been flowed and machined and matched to the enlarged inlet ports on the head. It’s on twin 50 Weber Carbs.

Titan dry sump system fitted and a poly V belt system and new alternator. Also included is a bracket for a Cosworth engine upgrade so the system can be transferred to it. It all has aeroquip hosing, the catchment tank is in the rear plus oil cooler at the front. The radiator is a 3 core one not a 2 core and has been fully rebuilt with new cores.

The cooling system has a full set of blue silicone hoses. The fan is a high powered one. The clutch is an AP racing 4 paddle system. Engine short block is lightened and balanced and skimmed flywheel. World cup cross member with poly bushed engine mounts.

The exhaust system from the mid section back is an Ashley one box system in excellent condition. The exhaust manifold is a one off custom built one which matches the enlarged exhaust ports. 

Steering: Close ratio 2 1/4 turn quick rack with new gaiters. Double width anti-roll bar, red poly bushed.

Gearbox & Axle:  Quaife 4 speed straight cut heavy duty pro race gearbox with steel rings with Quaife rose jointed gear lever.

Prop shaft is a Gr 1 rally prop shaft lightened and balanced with recent UV joints. Salisbury axle with a Trans-X LSD diff. This axle has the Gr 4 linking mounts and Watts linkage weld on kit attached plus radius arm mountings (Yellow poly bushed) The four linking or Watts linkage has never been used as the engine has never been pushed beyond 200 bhp. The half shafts have had recent end bearings fitted.

Brakes: front are 4 pot Princess calipers rebuilt & painted with new seal kits & bleeder valves. Solid vented discs are fitted on the fronts with racing pads. Ap race brake fluid. rear brakes are Cosworth calipers & discs and a Cosworth Burton’s fitting kit for a handbrake cable system which needs fitting. All brake lines are aeroquip and a Willwood brake bias valve has been fitted. Rear brakes are Cosworth calipers with road going pads.

Suspension: Bilstein front World Cup struts with Bilstein Tarmac 300/70 inserts with new seals recently fitted. These are fully adjustable platforms with 400 lbs front springs. Alloy roller top mounts with recent bearings and alloy caps to protect them. It’s fully polybushed with red on the anti-roll bar and yellow on the remainder of the car.

Rears are Bilstein Yellow tarmac shocks and all suspension components are linked by poy bushing, there are no bushes.

Fuel system: Aeroquip hosing has been used throughout and it has a Top King filter system and a Red Top fuel pump. The fuel cell is alloy and baffled with one way valves allowing for venting.

Rollcage: The rollcage is a Safety Devices bolt in 6 point system. Fire system installed with three nozzles.

(The Minilite wheels are not with the car as the offsets were incorrect.)
