BMW Z4 Coupe GTR

This project was started a few years ago for a very good client of ours. Unfortunately, our client passed away before the project was finished and so it has been stood for a while to allow the family to decide how to proceed. There are no other racers in the family and so it has had to be put up for sale.

The start of the project was when a BMW Z4 arrived at our workshops. It was in very good condition and would make a great base to start from.

The car was fully stripped to a bare shell and dipped.

Once dipped we started modifications to allow the install of the BMW S85 V10 engine and Tractive 6 speed sequential gearbox. We positioned the package as far back in the engine bay as possible for best weight distribution and to allow maximum radiator/oil cooling efficiency. Massive modifications to the bulkhead and transmission tunnel were carried out along with the floor pan being lifted to allow room for the exhaust system

The cage is fully integrated, T45 and TIG welded. Air jack tubes installed

The front custom subframe was designed and built by Cornering Force and supports the engine mounts and suspension bottom arms. The engine and gearbox have been installed and all mounts are supplied with the car.

Once the first “dry build” had been done the car was fully stripped again to have the bare body shell sprayed white.

The rear axle is from the BMW E46 M3. There is no diff supplied.

The front suspension has billet aluminium front uprights (Ric Wood designed and manufactured) with Proflex front dampers. The front hubs use the BMW E92 M3 wheel bearing. There are currently no rear dampers as we needed to measure up lengths before ordering and didn’t get to that stage. They can be ordered directly from Proflex in the UK.

Full Flossman supplied GTR body kit along with a Geoff Steel carbon roof skin and Geoff Steel lightweigh, composite tailgate. Carbon doors.

This will be an amazing car once completed and has the potential to have huge power figures.
