JBS 500 F3 project
Description:
The JBS 500 was a highly competive car against Coopers of the same vintage and had pedigree followers in period, examples being raced successfully by Peter Collins, Don Parker and others. Built to an original specification by speedway star Alf Bottoms and manufactured by his father Joseph's business, the JBS advanced the design of race cars. This car has been part completed with brakes resealed, chassis painted, parts blasted where necessary and requires only easily obtainable engine, gearbox and wheels to make a valuable historic race car with plenty of competitive choices through the 500 Owners Association UK and European circuit races and hillclimbs - over 25 events eligible for 2026. Apparently complete history with an Autosport period competition photo available on request. The chassis has been modified for a roll hoop with no other structural alteration. Has a 500 Owners Association chassis plate and was for many years in the possession of Roy Ward, a renowned motorcycle racer. Recovered in 2023 by a 500 campaigner who has too many (!) and would like to see this historically valuable car used. Looking for £11,000 but offers in the region of the asking price will be considered from enthusiasts.
