The car was rebuilt for racing in the early 2000's by and campaigned successfully by Chris Holland in the HSCC1970's Road sports Series. In 2008 it was sold to the present owner (a long  term friend) in a ready to race condition, but was kept in a dry garage for unused 9 years before it returned in 2017 to racing in the same series being driven by Chris Holland and the present owner, who won the series Novice Trophy in the car.

It was raced by both drivers through to 2023 in the 1970's Road Sports and the Historic Road Sports series, occasionally latterly. The car was fully maintained by RG Engineering each season and gradually upgraded over the years and the engine a twin cam Lotus dry sump engine was converted to run with steel crank and rods, but producing 150bhp whilst it provided much fun, it needed more power. In 2023 the engine was removed and rebuilt by Craig Beck Racing and the power output was increased to a peak of 166bhp at peak with 33mm chokes (the regulation standard for the 1970's series) and 174bhp with 36mm chokes (the regulation standard for the Road Sports Series). On test the car was found to require further work and a new cylinder head was fitted in Summer 2024 and the brakes overhauled to be ready to race again, but due to other commitments of the owner it has not returned to the track and been in storage again in a dry garage with occasional trips around the block to keep it in good operating condition. It is now ready to campaign again next season with only a recharge required of its fire extinguisher (service required in November 2025). The car is in excellent overall condition with only two minor fibreglass repairs required following encounters with 2 Alfa GTV's over the years.

 

In the right hands the car in its improved output is likely to prove competitive in both of the above series and is guaranteed to entertain.
