Presented for sale is an exceptional and historically significant Porsche 993 Cup – the original race car campaigned in the 1996 and 1997 Porsche Carrera Cup seasons, and the very car with which Wolfgang Land secured the overall Carrera Cup Championship in 1997.

The car has been in the hands of the same private collector since 1999 and has never been publicly offered before. In this level of originality, authenticity and documented motorsport provenance, such a vehicle is virtually impossible to find today.

History & Race Use

Delivered new in February 1996 via Porsche Centre Freiburg to EICHIN Racing, the 993 Cup competed in two full Carrera Cup seasons and remained accident-free, mechanically reliable and completely true to its factory specification throughout.

1996 Season – Driver Ott (#10)

The car took part in the complete 1996 season, including:
    •    10 May 1996 – Nürburgring
    •    24 May 1996 – Zolder
    •    21 June 1996 – Norisring
    •    05 July 1996 – Diepholz
    •    16 August 1996 – Siegerland
    •    29 August 1996 – Nürburgring
    •    06 September 1996 – Lahr (car #56)
    •    01 November 1996 – Hockenheim (car #59)

This season laid the foundation for the fully prepared and highly successful 1997 campaign.

1997 Season – Championship Year with Wolfgang Land (#8)

For 1997, the car was entrusted to Wolfgang Land, one of the most consistent and accomplished Porsche Carrera Cup drivers of his era.

The season produced several top results and culminated in the overall championship victory with 105 points, fully documented and historically undisputed.

Notable race results in 1997 include:
    •    16 March 1997 – Zolder – 1st place (Top Ten event)
    •    29 May 1997 – Zweibrücken – 2nd place
    •    06 July 1997 – Diepholz

After the championship was secured, the car received a full mechanical inspection and service by Walter Eichin. The front section was partially repainted due to stone chipping – the only paintwork performed on the car in its lifetime.
