The 229performance S58 engine in its latest evolution (V5), benefits from years of engine development, refinement and successful testing in a variety of applications.
As opposed to other S58 solutions, the 229performance S58 engine works chassis-independent while running both, direct-injection and port-injection simulatiously – from which it greatly benefits, both for power, as well as for thermal stress.
We advise 102 Octane fuel, 98 Premium or 95 is also possible.

Chassis Independent: With our offer, you can run the BMW S58 in any chassis that will physically provide the space: Whether you chose a JDM base from the 80s, European car from today or something American – if the engine bay layout offers fitment, our S58 will run, perform and deliver its power like in any BMW G8X-chassis.
Bullet-Proof Reliability: B58, 2JZ, RB, and LS engines generally need major internal upgrades and a mix of aftermarket parts to reach the high power outputs required today. The 229performance S58, however, breaks the 1,000 bhp barrier with only minimal changes to the block and internals. Its factory precision and OEM tolerances deliver consistent results across builds.
That means less diversity in parts, less trial and error, fewer unknowns, easier knowledge management within your team – and more time driving instead of vehicle downtime.
Responsiveness Like an N/A: The optional fresh-air antilag system maintains turbo speed during off-throttle phases, ensuring near-instant boost recovery and response characteristics comparable to naturally aspirated engines. By continuously supplying compressed air to the exhaust side, it stabilizes turbine shaft speed, minimizes transient lag, and delivers immediate torque on throttle re-engagement – with significantly higher overall output potential, compared to N/A engines. That means little to no turbo-lag, with all the benefits of a turbo engine's power output.
Adjustability: Adapt instantly to weather shifts, surface changes, or driver preference. The control interface allows in-car adjustment of boost level, throttle response and antilag aggressiveness – without re-flashing or external tools: Either for immediate use or to adjust the car to a junior driver's development over months or years.
Transparency By Telemetry: Advanced data-logging enables a direct link between data and driver feedback. While the driver can still rely on feel and intuition, the logged information provides objective confirmation and deeper understanding: Helping to refine both driving style and setup. Beyond performance tuning, the system also serves as a preventive maintenance tool. Early deviations in pressure, temperature, or flow data direct your attention – keeping the car within designated paramters and competitive throughout the season.
That means you make decisions based on facts, not assumptions — optimizing performance, reliability, and driver confidence with every lap.
