INTRODUCTION

This unique and highly desirable Ferrari F355 Challenge spec car is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive example which is also road registered. 

This example is a proven front running car which has had very few hours running since a refresh. It has been fastidiously maintained and benefits from a detailed service history and recent rebuild by our Motorsport department at SBR.

VEHICLE OVERVIEW

The Ferrari F355 Challenge was a competition variant of the road-going F355 Berlinetta, originally developed by Ferrari’s Corse Clienti department for use in the single-make Ferrari Challenge series. Initially launched in 1995, cars were either converted from standard F355s or very rarely built from new by Ferrari for racing.

This car was converted to challenge spec in 2018 by an independent specialist. We have since rebuilt the car to a superior specification using all genuine Challenge parts where needed. It has always been a front running and race winning car in the Ferrari Club Classic series and is an ideal car for the novice and experienced driver alike.

Engine & Transmission

The engine has been upgraded internally with new Carrillo connecting rods, New Pistons, New cylinder liners, New valves & valve guides. These were fitted as part of an engine refresh which has since covered around 6 hours running only. We inspected and changed the engine bearings in 2024, the car has completed less than an hour since. The engine mapping has been tailored in house by us on our rolling road to extract better power and improved tractability.

The engine was removed at the start of this year (2025) for a full service and cam belt replacement and tensioner bearing replaced. Engine timed correctly, new cam cover gaskets and cam seals, as well as the cam covers re-wrinkle powder coating in the trademark red! New Challenge exhaust heat shields, correct air boxs with BMC filters etc were also fitted at this time.

Externally, it wears the correct 18-inch Speedline wheels, Challenge rear grille for improved cooling, and subtle period-correct decals — all pointing to its motorsport pedigree.

HISTORY

Raced by Tim Walker in the Ferrari Club classic series this car enjoyed many podiums and victories. The car is offered with comprehensive file of documentation, supporting its maintenance history by the previous owner and the work carried out by us.

Throughout its road car life, it has been cared for by Ferrari main dealers and respected independent specialists, with recent work including timing belt replacement and a full fluids service by ourselves.
