Original 1965 TVR Griffith 200 FIA App K

This particular TVR Griffith (chassis 14) was built 10th Feb 1965 and first registered on 17th March 1965. According to the Buff logbook, which comes complete with the car, it left the factory a timeless shade of silver but during its complete rebuild and race preparation was resprayed an attractive shade of Old English White - a decision taken so as to distinguish it from the other very well known Silver narrow bodied car  BFR400B that often graces Goodwood.

It was built to FIA Appendix K Period F specification and boasts an historical technical passport that is valid until December 31st 2027, making it eligible for all major national and international historic events including Goodwood, Motor racing Legends and Masters etc.

With just 35,000 miles on the clock, road registered with V5 this is a prime example of a very well maintained classic. It is one of approximately 42 UK built TVR Griffiths with the desirable’Manx’ tail, making it an even more sought after model. The car is known to the Griffiths Register and to the author of the seminal book ‘The Griffiths Years’ - Mike Mooney. It has also featured on the front cover of Octane magazine which also tested the car on road some years ago.

This TVR Griffith has an impressive documented ownership history dating back to its original owner. Over the years it has been in the hands of several distinguished owners, including esteemed racer Jackie Cochrane, John Eales of JE Developments and Willie Green who commissioned most of the original restoration and race preparation. The car is fitted with a Ford 289 Race Engine built by Peter Knight and comes complete with previous and up to date dyno sheets.

Over the last two years a huge sum has been spent on every aspect of the car, with a meticulous program of upgrades and maintenance, with the intention of making it a front running original narrow body car
