Mk1 Ford Cortina 

Pre66 race car with all steel full race engine with under 20 miles of use! 

My intention was to build it and race it, but the truth is it's too good and I don’t have the money to crash or break it! 

Simply, the cortina has turned out to be an absolutely beautiful car and I am nervous of putting a scratch on it!

I have all receipts and photos for the 140bhp pre-crossflow race engine build, quaife 2000e box, AP race clutch and all other parts. 

Weighing in at 880kg, she is very light and seriously quick. 

The one test session at brands hatch last Autumn was a success. 

This is not a thrown together car, or a tired overseas import. Everything is new! I have a full photographic book, showing the build from beginning to end and have every receipt.

You should not be fooled by cheaper copies out there, as this car has everything to race now. All safety equipment is in date with the correctly positioned extinguisher nozzles within the car and engine bay. 

Note the personal design touches of the dash, alloy door panels and powder coated bumpers. This car really stands out!

Bias pedal box, m16 brakes and 9” rear drums. Race pads. 

LSD and heavy duty half shafts. 

Gaz adjustable suspension.

Jones lotus race springs.

Compomotive 5.5j Wheels and Dunlop race  tyres.

Heated Screen. 

Adjustable TCA’s and standard TCA setup comes with the car. 

Lotus steering arms. 

Heavy duty ARB.

Full Stainless exhaust. 

Heavy duty and balanced prop with Prop brace. 

I have avoided writing new against parts as it’s all new! Most parts are new lotus/race parts. 

Fully replaced electric harness with fuses and relays. 

This had a test at brands last year and I placed for sale through some good friends, but it didn’t sell at 47k. Headed into the winter I pulled the advert and here we are again, and realistically priced at 36500. A massive reduction from autumn last year, but shows a realistic drop off in the market. 

I honestly believe the first genuine person to see this car, will buy. 

The colour is super rare for the track and the pre-crossflow was to intended to be different direction to ALL the lotus’s out there, as well as sit in a different class. 

This is my own personal car purchased about 5 years ago. It started life as standard mk1 cortina and as you can see, has been painstakingly and meticulously converted to this beautiful race car. 

Race it, track it, use it on the road or  show it. It’s mot’d and road legal.

Transportation could be arranged. Buying a car, at this value and over the internet can be daunting. I am happy to provide any details to relieve any concerns and I am happy to complete video calls and show the car in person or remotely via a live call. 
 

Please note the car comes with the current registration and not my private plate which it had on for a while.
