Description:
Here for sale is my 1979 Porsche 924 which I bought in 2022 and have significantly improved since.
This is the cheapest way into historic racing: the car is built to HSCC's 70s Roadsports regulations and has a VIF file. Despite being built to HSCC regs the car is also very competitive in the CALM All Porsche trophy, having won in the hands of a novice driver against lighter fiberglass-bodied 924s.
It is super well balanced and has had a full geo set up by experienced racing engineer Phil Brough who runs the car. This was my first race car and allowed me to collect a few trophies.
some of the works that were carried out over the last 24 months (I'm sure forgotten lots):
- suspension: new gaz gold coilovers and full corner weight geo set up, power flex bushings
- engine: full rebuild with high compression pistons and rods from Mittelmotor, custom equal length exhaust manifold, k-jetronic overhall, larger aluminum radiator
- brakes: new refurbed front calipers, new dics, carbon lorrain high end pads, new shoes at the rear
- interior: new sparco martini racing seat, new belts, new plumbed in fire extinguisher, new steering wheel and quick release, repaired and flocked dash, fixed electrics
Comes with spares package and 2 sets of wheels (6j and 7j).
Phil Brough will be happy to provide car preparation, race day support, transportation and storage. He is a race car engineer with lots of experience with 924 and is also a great driving coach. So he can offer the full package to support and run the car, including coaching. Especially great for novice drivers.
Any question, please let me know.
I will try to upload an onboard video when i get a chance.
