Crossle 51F # 02:

Unique original Crosslé Formula Ford 2000cc from 1982.

This Crossle 51F has chassis #02 and was driven only few times by Tommy Reid after which it was stored.

Rebuilt and then occasionally driven, trackdays at Spa and Zandvoort. 

Elegant example of classic Formula car evolution of the early eighties.

This FF2000 is from a no-expense-spared, chassis-up rebuild. The cost of rebuilding exceed the asking price.

This rebuiling has been completed for the current owner/driver.

 

Virtually everything is new or refurbished , for example bodywork, brake callipers, clutch and brake master cylinders, complete ignition system, carburettor, complete cooling system, Oil system, drysump, fuel pump and more. All according to FIA, Formula Ford 2000 time period specs.

 

The engine is very strong, built by Wim Houben from Montronic Service , who is well known within the Dutch Formula Ford Pinto Engine Engineering. With around 4 hours running in total.  The exhaust, header are custom-made, developed on the engine dyno at Montronic.

The Hewland gearbox was rebuild at the same time as the engine.

 

The period Koni adjustable dampers have been rebuilt and refurbished by Koni specialist Verbaas preparations  .

 

Two sets of Compomotive split rims in total. One set with slick tyres, one set with wets

This car is great fun to drive, cost-effective to race and very quick for this engine power to weight ratio.

Crossle 51F FF2000, in excellent condition, on the button and ready to go!
