Description:

MGB Historic Racer 1964. Rebuilt in 2024 from an original blasted shell it has new sills, floors, and other panels and has been re-sprayed in original Tartan Red to a stunning finish. All parts are either new or if was necessary reconditioned. It has been built to our race-winning specification and to the FIA Appendix K regulations in the Period F GTS class. It has new HTP papers until 2034. The car has been run-in on the road, registered and road legal,and is ready to race in Equipe GTS, Classic K, GT&SCC, Masters, HSCC Guards, Spa 6 Hours etc

Brief specification as follows:

Engine: Running-in only, ready to compete. Block cleaned and crack tested, line honed, bored to 1845cc, new steel race rods, JE forged race pistons, MGM full race camshaft, modified followers, heavy duty bearings, steel crankshaft, steel flywheel, competition clutch. All rotating parts balanced. Cylinder head by Peter Burgess to full race specification. Carburettor is 45CDOE suitably jetted, exhaust by large bore Maniflow with empty centre box to keep noise to under 200dB. Fuelling is by Facet Red Top pump, Malpasi pressure regulator and 80 litre foam filled aluminium tank. All the above is new apart from block & head and was built by MGM.

Gearbox: Original casing, build by us with our new 4 speed SCCR gear set.

Axle & Differential: 4.1:1 CWP with 3JD Plate type LSD, all new.Standard banjo axle with new EN24 replacement ends, and usual modifications.

Brakes: All new, relined race shoes at the rear with special wheel cylinders, and new calipers, discs, and race pads at the front.

Suspension & Wheels: Lever arm shocks front & rear rebuilt by MGM, adjustable at rear. Our own race springs at the front and rear, uprated A/R bar and all Superpro polyurethane bushes. Wheels are our own Minator specials with Dunlop 550L14 tyres.

Body & Interior: As original, completely refinished in Tartan Red inside, outside, and under bonnet and boot lid. Roundels painted in OEW. Works hard top currently in Red but can be any colour. Bonnet and boot lid are Aluminium. Dash and other internal panels re-crackled black, new 0-8,000 tachometer, switch gear, wiring harness, detachable Moto-Lita steering wheel, Lifeline plumbed-in extinguisher system, Tillett B6 Screamer FIA seat with Lifeline Copse 6 point harness. Welded-in roll cage to FIA specs and panoramic mirror. New screen glass, and others on new polycarbonate. New door seals, capping’s, and trims fitted

This car is far better than new and is a potential winner first time out as we have proved at least 3 times!
