1990 BMW E30 M3 - Original Group A car 

Chassis # M3/10820 - Originally purchased new in 1998 from BMW Motorsport by SDA Racing Team as a bare shell with the Group A kit. It raced in Group A until 1990. Next it was then modifed to run in French Supertourism Championship, fitted with a 2.8 liter engine with slide valve injection. This series ended in 1991 so in 1993 was reverted back to Group A spec.

Owned by SDA Racing Team in southwest France and rented to Spanish driver Rafael Barrios who won the Spanish title in 1993. The livery at that time was yellow and red, sponsor was "Santa Lucia".

In 1994 the car was painted all red, rented a few times for race and hillclimb events then put up for sale. Purchased in 1995 by French racer Alain Delaporte from SDA Racing. Delaporte used the car in both hillclimb and track event through 1999. 

Sold in 1999 to Fabrice Combe. He ran the car in 2 hillclimb events and then sold it to Pascal Chatenay later that same year.

Chatenay commisioned a full restoration of the entire car. A large amount of records and invoices are included with the car documenting all the work completed. He raced the car extensively from 2001 through 2007 in regional and national hillclimbs throughout France accumulating many victories and records along the way. 

Purchased by the current owner in 2008. A complete mechanical rebuild has just been completed. One Test day and one full race weekend in 2024 since recomisioning has been completed. Body and paint are as finished in the 1999-2000 restoration but still in very good condition since the car has not been used in competition until this year. Some very minor signs of use with paint chips and cracks here and there. 

Engine failed during race weekend (dropped valve) so the engine is completely freshly rebuilt with dyno time only.

Includes 3 sets of original Speedline 18" wheels. 

The recent recomissioning work included the following:

- Rebuilt 2.5 liter engine with all the correct Motrosport details such as the the enlarged oil sump, belt drive pulleys, air box, larger throttle bodies, larger header, flywheel, carbon air box and radiator ducting, etc.

- 3 disc 7-1/4" AP Racing clutch

- Rebuilt Getrag 265 5 speed Prodrive dogring gearbox, cryo treated and REM polished gears. New bearings and seals throughout

- Rebuilt rear LSD differential - New 4.45 ring and pinion cryo treated and REM polished gears

- Rebuild original Brembo M3 Motorsport calipers front and rear

- New ATL fuel cell

- New E30 M3 Motorsport front and rear brake rotors and new DS3000 Ferodo brake pads 

- Disassemble, clean and inspect front and rear hubs and CV joints. Fit new bearings and seals, repack CV's and bearings

- Remove and replace all AN lines and fittings throughout entire car.

- New clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder

- Rebuild front and rear shocks

- New Monsoon V3 ECU

- New AFFF 4 liter fire system and OMP harness good through 2025

- Complete ride height adjustment, 4 wheel alignment and corner balance. New front and rear coil springs. 

- FIA HTP certification, good through 2034
