As with many Formula Junior and early Formula Fords the Crosslé 16F (1969) and 20F (1971) used transmission parts from the Hillman Husky, utility version of the Imp, produced from 1963 to 1976 and now very difficult to find as spares. Drive spindles eventually break at the threaded outer end, bringing race weekends to a premature end.

Crosslé Car Company offers its own drive spindles and flanges, CNC machined from EN24T steel with improved tolerances on period parts.

New parts are visually similar to, and can be interchanged with, period Crosslé items (adapted from Hillman originals). We recommend replacing the splined spindle and flange together to minimise play and prolong service life. LH and RH threads are available for opposite sides of the car, as a pair or individually, to pre-empt loosening over time.

As well as Crosslé 16F and 20F these parts suit other early FF1600 and Formula Junior where the original spindle was machined to accept outer and inner bearings with 30mm ID. A spacer can be used at the inner (universal joint) face where necessary.

These parts are tried and tested with race wins in Formula Junior at Goodwood and Formula Ford in Europe.

Spindle £367.50, flange £231.00 with 3-3/4" PCD, ex-works plus VAT. Flanges for other PCD are available by request. Matching RH/LH nuts and lock washers (D-washers) are also available from stock.
