Description:

As with many early Formula Fords the Crosslé 16F and 20F used Hillman Imp transmission parts, produced from 1963 to 1976 and now difficult to find as spares. Drive spindles can eventually break at the threaded outer end, bringing race weekends to a premature end .

Crosslé Car Company offers its own drive spindles and flanges, CNC machined to improved tolerances and appropriately branded.

New parts are visually similar to, and can be interchanged with, period Crosslé items (adapted from Imp originals). We recommend replacing the splined spindle and flange together to minimise play and prolong service life. LH and RH threads can be fitted on opposite sides of the car as a matched pair to pre-empt loosening over time.

As well as Crosslé 16F and 20F these parts suit other early FF1600 where the original spindle was machined to accept outer and inner bearings with 30mm ID. A spacer can be used at the inner (universal joint) face where necessary.
