Description:

The first production Dulon MP15, built December 1972 and displayed at the Racing Car Show in January 1973.  Raced successfully in period by John Skinner.  Easy to set up and maintain, and forgiving to drive.

The subject of a comprehensive restoration by Neil Barnett and with only sparing use since.  Chassis shot-blasted, crack tested and powder coated in original grey; all chassis and suspension components stripped and re-painted/re-plated; all new aluminium floor, bulkheads and panels; original fluid lines replaced with Aeroquip hoses and fittings; shock absorbers stripped, checked and rebuilt; new wiring loom; original Smiths rev counter, oil pressure and water temperature gauges.  Full chassis set up using original Dulon/Maxperenco set up notes; corner weighted.

Engine stripped and re-built by Neil Barnett, including new pistons, main bearings, valves and valve springs.  Gearbox stripped and rebuilt; ratios, dog rings and other gearbox internals resurfaced and restored; linkage assembly checked and adjusted.

New lightweight bodywork by Len Marchant (Marchant and Cox) from original ‘70s moulds.  New lightweight Weller wheels.  Willans FIA 6-point harness (valid until end 2024).  Fire extinguisher and plumbing compliant with current MSA regs (needs refill 2024).

Retirement sale so spares package includes: spare bodywork (nose cone, top section and engine cover); transponder and charger; two new batteries; two sets of springs; spare rear wishbone; brake pads; filters; quick lift jack.

A copy of the original handwritten Dulon/Maxperenco 1972/73 build log and set up sheets (supplied by Andy Duncan) included in sale.  Also copies of original photos of MP15-52 and results sheets as raced 1973-1976 by John Skinner. 

Castle Combe FF1600 Championship winner - Class D, 2013 and 2015.  Numerous Class B podium finishes in Classic Formula Ford and Monoposto, 2006 – 2022.
