R&J Simpson Engineering  require due to increasing workload an experienced  machine operator with work shop manager  skills.

This role is open for full time or a part time role to the right person and skill set.

Job description

Machinst and workshop manager role

This role will involve operating the CNC Milling machine  on a daily basis and at times the 2 Lathes when needed covering the other Machine operators role when required ie Holidays illness 
Programming machines for new products and projects
Co ordinating any Scanning works and  3D Cad drawing required.

Managing the shop floor so that each Fabricator is kept busy with job Materials  bushes tube tooling jig as needed minimising their down time and “wastage’.

Ordering, pre ordering  a minimum level of basic materials in stock from metals to nuts bolts Rivets consumables plus tea coffee milk !

Answering general phone  enquires, taking verbal orders  to turn in to written order confirmation, confirming estimates to written quotes where necessary.
Meeting on site with customer visits with  their deliveries & collection of work with occasional visit to customer premises to review new work for quoting 

Collecting Job sheets for customer invoicing

Monitoring staff Holiday bookings

Monitoring and organising workshop maintenance programmes from general Housekeeping to repairs  or upgrades as required

Implementing workshop  general Health and safety standards actioning when and where required.  Providing progress reports to customers,  any upgrades and improvements

Reporting  on a weekly basis on progress to  Directors via email or phone calls.
