1975 MGB GT ‘Factory’ V8

Professionally restored, was rebuilt with two objectives of originality and performance.

Was built to compete in HSCC 70s Roadsports Championship and has been built to their regs. However due to a committing to another championship in a Bmw, it hasn’t competed. It’s only done approx 200 road miles since completion (covering just over 78k miles in total).

Bought by me in 2019 from a Classic Car dealer with an MOT and 77k miles from new. It needed a small amount of cosmetic attention. I then made the decision to strip and rebuild the car to a high standard.

The body was bare-metalled and refinished with new panels replacing anything that wasn’t perfect and producing a high level finish in its original Tahiti blue. The bodywork was carried out by Martin Stubbs Bodywork at Thirsk.

The engine went to CAS Engineering and was rebuilt with a big valve head, high compression pistons, high lift cam etc etc giving a lot of torque and around 200bhp, the engine sounds immense. All new uptated brakes and suspension was fitted, all polybushed, and has a panhard rod fitted. Along with a safety devices full roll-cage.

The result is a great handling, fast MGB V8 with an amazing sound track.  

Ideal for a race series, hill climbs, sprints (plenty of series/championships for this spec car) or just fast road and car shows.

All original parts come with the car, I bought additional parts to modify, protecting the originals. So if you wanted the car to be put back to ‘standard looking’ it can be easily.
