Lola which is mostly focused on building LMP and other prototype chassis for racing has as mentioned here joined forces with Caterham in the production of the SP 300R. Based around an aluminum 'honeycomb' monocoque, the car is based around Lola's B08/90 Sports 2000 chassis and houses a deep cockpit with a driving position that immediately brings to mind LMP cars. Above the passenger seat is an aerodynamic cover that can be lifted away to free up space for the included passenger seat. In front of the driver is a function-focused steering wheel with buttons for timer, pitspeed and radio along with a range of other functions. Behind, paddles for the sequential box and a paddle for controlling the clutch. Just like in a formula car.

The headrest on the passenger side is here replaced with an intake for the turbo system from Garett, which in this car replaced the supercharger. This is for increased response and increased power from 300 to 430hp from the Ford Duratec 2L engine which is mounted directlly against the firewall with the gearbox hanging behind. Lifting the skin off this car reveals a build more familiarly seen on a formula car. Where the rear suspension is suspended from the gearbox with adjustability to the dampers above. Carbon fiber runs throughout and at the back a large wing constructed entirely of carbon fiber. In each corner, 13" wheels from ATS, which even with tires are feather-light. Summarizing this car in a text is difficult, but the numbers are quite telling.
