For sale Clio Sport Championship car. 

The car was built at the start of the year and only used in 3 rounds. Of the two qualifying sessions we did it qualified on pole both times. Missing the third qualifying session and starting from the back was the only time this year it has finished off the podium in any race (4th)!! 

The car was built over a continuous period of 7 months and has had absolutely no expense spared. It was a total back to shell rebuild and every part that was put back on was either new or restored. 

As you can see from the pictures due to this level of build I am able to run 52kg of ballast with a 72kg driver making it the lightest and lowest centre of gravity car on the grid by far. I’m happy to talk about the levels I’ve gone to to achieve this and why it’s so important once a sale is agreed. Only reason for sale is being offered a promotion at work which sadly meant I couldn’t attend all the rounds this year and unfortunately will mean the same for next season as well! Full setup will be included and as I won’t be in the class next year I have no reason to alter this.  

This is a 2007 Clio 197 so has the earlier box with short ratio 5th gear. I have however changed the steering rack to a 200 cup (£400 brand new) so it’s the best of both between the two options. 

Unlike most others it has never been in any contact with any cars or barriers and hasn’t even had an excursion off the black stuff! Currently corner weighted for a 72kg driver (plus kit) Front to rear distribution set to my driving style which I will include on the sheet, same goes for shell stiffness which is currently how I have it for the dry. 

The interior as you can see is absolutely immaculate with electronic isolator, new extinguisher and race battery relocated to the rear of the passenger footwell. Brand new seat and belts. Driving position, pedal and gear lever modifications mean it doesn’t for once feel like the normal converted road car. 

Exterior is virtually unmarked and the base colour under the wrap is in black. It looks more like a show car than a racecar. 

The engine in it at the moment was totally rebuilt at the start of the year including full head work (within regs) and main/rod race bearings fitted. All components were ultrasonically cleaned and inspected and all service items (pumps belts etc replaced with new. Timelapse available of the entire build) it has been dynoed extensively for run in and tweaking which again I’m happy to discuss after the sale. I won’t include the figures as each dyno is totally different and most the quoted numbers you see for these engines are temperature corrected for the print outs. There hasn’t however been a single car on the grid this year that’s kept with it down the straights which again can be seen from my onboard if needed. The engine has only ran 2 race meetings and 3 tests days with Oil and filters being changed after each outing. 

Extensive spares package is included in the sale but I simple cannot list it all. Important bits off the top of my head are a new front and rear bumper, new doors and boot, spare lights, alternator and driveshafts, radiator .. oh and an entire spare shell which has 47,000 miles on it. Aim Solo 2 DL can be left in at extra cost. The data logger is all currently hard wired into the dash with a mount. 

I also have my spare short circuit engine and rebuilt gearbox (07) which can be included at extra cost.
