Description:

1978 Porsche 924 road registered race car which has just undergone an extensive refresh. Being a 1970s car it is eligible and competitive in a huge number of events HSCC, Equipe Classic Racing, CSCC, Calm Porsche Trophy, 750MC, CMMC to name a few.

Purchased in November 2021 over 2022 and early 2023 the car has been fully gone through top to bottom, front to back and has completed a shakedown test day with no issues and 100 miles of road use.

The car had a fresh engine when purchased which I’ve further gone through and set up correctly along with replacing the fuel lines, engine bay rewire, rebuilding the distributor and other ancillaries.

The front suspension has been fully stripped refinished and rebuilt with Powerflex black competition bushes. The front brakes have been stripped and rebuilt with new seals, pistons, pads and Millers competition fluid.

The interior of the car has been fully refurbished and refinished with a new in jan 2022 FIA plumbed in fire extinguisher fitted, new switch panels, gauges and full overhaul of the electrics which has involved almost completely rewiring the car from front to back. A passenger seat has been fitted for track/ test days and driver training.

Fuel/ brake lines and fittings have been replaced where needed and the fuel system checked, consumables replaced and set up correctly.

The car features LEDA front and rear adjustable shocks and has been corner weighted to give it almost exactly a 50/ 50 balance with driver and comes under weight for some series which allows the weight to be placed where needed.

Currently in CSCC specification with fibreglass bonnet, wings and badge panel but a complete set of correct steel panels primed and ready to paint & fit come with the car for conversion to full HSCC 70s Roadsports specification (it currently runs in the HSCC Invitational class). I’ve already added all the provisions for front head lights when rewiring the car and they all work.

The plan was to race it this season with my wife but work and other commitments means we just don’t have time to race it. For it to be fully compliant for the 2024 season it will need new belts and also a Harness bar fitted which does come with the car and just needs putting in.
