A unique Alpine story
No competition Alpine A110 has had a single pilot; all passing from hand to hand, from pro to amateur. Exception to the rule, we found this car with a single driver or rather a single crew, since since 1970 only two brothers have been driver and co-driver of this car. The love of their life. The pilot having died, the co-pilot entrusted it to us for sale.
As this story is unique, you can watch the video we made.
G.V. first bought a 1300 Alpine, but finding it not very powerful, he asked for a more efficient model in Dieppe.
It was the famous pilot Jean Vinater who himself came to deliver it to Nîmes. Another time when factory drivers are also delivery men!
G.V. used it on a daily basis and then meeting pilots, normal when you had an Alpine in 1970, he started competing, his brother would be his co-pilot.
And wonder and luck Alpine had delivered them a light body, which they noticed with the lightness of the bodywork, the large tank and the mountings for the Monte Carlo gearbox.
Indeed at this time in 1970, Alpine quickly delivered what it had in stock.
G.V. will keep this Alpine A110 until his death, with his brother co-pilot; a well-established career in rallies with safe driving, without outings except for one touch, repaired by the renowned Bruno Saby.
Following developments, they modernized most of the G IVs, big wings and especially the 1860 cm3 engine, mignotet with the Monte Carlo gearbox and the self-locking system to produce 195 horsepower.
Since 1970, this unique car has remained with the same owner (he first had it registered in the name of his wife and then changed registration when changing residence)
We were able to test this car, which is a real kart, the engine responds perfectly (it had just been serviced by specialist Christian Muratet, well known in competition)
It's a pleasure, the sensations are direct, and fantastic driving, much more fun than a Porsche.
